A Night of Experimental Music and Art in Harajuku’s Newest Hotspot
A new culture spot has opened at Harajuku Quest B1F. To celebrate the launch of The Hall and the neighboring restaurant The Tunnel, artist Yoshirotten and en one tokyo have created a 16-day installation titled “Quiet Underground: Energy, Sound and Time.” On March 21, music label Beatink is taking over the space for a night of music and performance.
The Lineup

Kei Matsumaru: A saxophonist and composer with a really interesting background — born in Papua New Guinea and self-taught until college. He’s a frequent collaborator with artists like Eiko Ishibashi and Jim O’Rourke, and recently released his album Dokuso, YuYu.

eijin: A DJ and designer who moves between hip-hop, juke and footwork. He’s been gaining a lot of momentum lately, including a set at the upcoming POP YOURS 2026.

Stilllive: A performance platform curated by Sanghae Kwon (Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo). Artists Yuki Kobayashi, Osamu Shikichi and Karu Miyoshi will present a piece that looks at how individual movement and collective work overlap.
About the Space
The “Quiet Underground” concept is Yoshirotten’s take on Harajuku’s history of basement rooms — places where people can work solo or hang out with friends to create something new.
The venue itself has cool design details to check out. The restaurant, The Tunnel, features tray liners by illustrator Hiroshi Nagai and a logo by LA tattoo artist Dr. Woo. The architecture includes floating floors by Nobuo Araki and gold-finished pipe racks by Daisuke Motogi (DDAA LAB).
The installation and daily reception series run through March 29. It’s a good chance to see how art, food and music are coming together in this new space.
