A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Sake Brewing

Fairfield by Marriott Hyogo Kannabe Highland is collaborating with Kasumitsuru Co., Ltd for a sake brewery tour and limited edition tasting event on June 28. This event will be held exclusively for hotel guests. 

This year marks the incredible 300th anniversary of Kasumitsuru’s founding. The long-established sake brewery, based in northern Hyogo Prefecture, proudly uses water pumped from Mount Hyonosen — the highest peak in Hyogo Prefecture — as well as Hyogo-grown rice for all of their brewing. Carefully selected ingredients create their signature products which are characterized by their robust flavor, refreshing aroma and smooth texture. 

In the tour, guests will receive the rare opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at sake brewing process and also taste-test three limited edition sakes that are only sold at the Kasumitsuru direct sales store. Guests can also take some time to shop for limited edition sake and other souvenirs.

This experience is limited to the first 20 participants, and only available for guests staying at the hotel on the day of the event. Participation costs ¥1100 per person and comes with one sake glass and wooden masu set per person. 

Tour schedule:

  • 14:00: Meet at Fairfield by Marriott Hyogo Kannabe Highland lobby lounge, transfer by minibus
  • 14:30: Brewery tour at Kasumitsuru
  • 15:15: Tasting and shopping 
  • 16:00: Depart from Kasumitsuru
  • 16:30: Arrive at Fairfield by Marriott Hyogo Kannabe Highland
