Celebrate 30 Years of Resident Evil
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of “Resident Evil,” or “Biohazard” in Japan, the world’s first large-scale exhibition for the game will be held at the Beam Gallery in Shibuya.
This exhibition will expand upon the world that the “Resident Evil” series has built over 30 years, allowing visitors to relive the events experienced and the horrors faced by the protagonists through space, video and sculpture — an immersive experience will make fans feel as if they’ve stepped into the game world.
The exhibit will take fan through several rooms that each focus on different aspects of the game. The World of Biohazard Theater will welcome guests into the exhibition with scenes from the series presented on a large screen. The “Evidence of Fear” area will display development materials centered around the themes of “viruses,” “parasites” and “fungi.” Guests will also be able to see life-sized, meticulously crafted figures of the game villains. The “Memories of Those Who Confront Each Other” section will feature the protagonists and more photo spots.
For the big fans, special tickets will be available that include a framed pin set exclusive to this event, featuring the exhibition logo and 19 titles from the “Resident Evil” series. The set highlights the complete series, from the first game to the latest installment, “Resident Evil: Requiem.” A limited number of 2,500 units will be available for purchase via lottery.
