DIG Shibuya 2026 returns for three days of immersive art and technology experiences across Shibuya, inviting visitors to “update the five senses” through light, sound, movement, dialogue and touch. Co-hosted by Shibuya city, the festival features interactive installations, projection mapping, drone shows and experimental haptic communication spread throughout the city.

Drone Show “Earthshot”
Watch the Shibuya skyline come alive with choreographed lights and drone formations over Yoyogi Park on Saturday, February 14. The show will take place 15–20 minutes after sunset.
“Hello! Duetti”
The Route 246 Pedestrian Deck (the deck connecting Shibuya Scramble Square and Shibuya Stream) will be the site of an interactive sound installation, where benches and posts on the pedestrian walkway will respond to movement, generating music. This new form of “urban dialogue” will allow passersby to create spontaneous duets as they walk or sit. The exhibition period is Friday, January 23 – Friday, February 27.
Projection Mapping at Shibuya Parco: “Screens Contextualized: Projecting Shibuya After Dark”
Projection mapping will transform the iconic walls of Shibuya Parco into a cinematic urban canvas with light and video by Toshiki Okamoto (February 14, 5–9 p.m.).
Dialogic Art Tour: “Dialogue Electronica”
Guided, interactive art tours will encourage conversation and reflection on Shibuya’s cutting-edge installations. There will be two sessions: one on Friday, February 13 and one on Saturday, February 14, both from 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. The tour is free, but pre-registration is required — sign up here.
Shibuya Crossing Night Art
There will be a coordinated, one-hour-long midnight exhibition across the four massive screens overlooking Scramble Crossing (February 13–14 & February 14–15, midnight–1:00 a.m.).
Haptic Remote Communication: “Coexistence Denwa”
Experience a new haptic phone installation connecting people through touch as well as voice. When you sit at the console, your image is projected onto a screen, allowing you to converse with someone in a remote location. What makes this device so groundbreaking is its use of haptic technology — users can send vibrations to one another, enabling you to essentially “feel” the presence of the person on the other end. Visitors can use the device as part of the Opening Session & Meetup at Shibuya Stream Hall on February 13 from 2:30–8 p.m. Registration for the Opening Session & Meetup is required. Sign up here.
