Taste Through Sakura’s Beautiful World

Smile Base Cafe will host a limited pop-up collaboration cafe with Cardcaptor Sakura inspired by the beloved magical girl manga and anime. The cafe will tour through Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo, and is scheduled to run through:

  • Nagoya: July 28 to August 17
  • Shinsaibashi: August 23 to September 10
  • Ikebukuro: September 17 to October 6

The cafe will be themed around the series’ “clear card arc.” The menu will feature a variety of characters and beautifully decorated food and drinks. Offerings include a cherry blossom ochazuke, a seige Sakura strawberry parfait, Kero-chan’s caramel pancakes, Tomoyo’s purple lemonade, Akiho’s teatime parfait and more. 

The three cafe locations will also have exclusive menu items. The Ikebukuro cafe will have Sakura’s cold tomato gnocchi, the Shinsaibashi cafe will serve Kero-chan’s giant takoyaki and the Nagoya cafe will offer Emperor Syaoran Li’s Chinese plate.

Weekday daytime sessions will be limited to 90 minutes, either from 12:30-2:00 p.m. or from 2:30-4:00 p.m. Evening sessions will be limited to 120 minutes with last orders open until 7:00 p.m. Guests coming in during holidays will be limited to 75 minutes. Walk-in guests will be welcome when seating is available, but reservations will be prioritized and are highly recommended.

A variety of exclusive merchandise will be available at the cafe gift shop, featuring the watercolor illustrations from the manga. Products include acrylic card holders, badge buttons, quilted pouches, hair scrunchies, acrylic stands, mugs and more. A Kero-chan rug will be sold exclusively on the Smile Base online shop.
