A Milestone for Tokyo’s Creative Scene
This&That, the art-and-music event series run by creative agency TokyoDex, marks its 50th edition on Friday, September 25 at BnA_WALL in Nihonbashi. Themed “Convergence,” Vol. 50 brings artists from across the series’ 16-year history back into the room alongside first-time performers — a fitting setup for a night that’s been running on the same simple premise since 2010: put artists, musicians and passersby in one space and see what emerges.
The music runs from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with live sets from Alex James Haruki, Tama & Kai and KΣITO, followed by a closing DJ set from Sakura Tona, with live drawing and VJ by Kurara Abe. The evening doubles as an art unveiling: the new Colors of the City mural, created through the Pentel × Mural Rookies Project, debuts at the event, and visitors can extend the night into a small neighborhood art walk — the Sounds of the City mural hangs at THE A.I.R. BUILDING nearby and the Connections of the City installation runs along surrounding construction walls.
