Sunshine Aquarium is collaborating with the best-selling book series “Zannen na Ikimono” (Unfortunate Animals Encyclopedia) by Takahashi Shoten, for an interesting exhibition that features creatures that “try hard but somehow come up short.”
This is the third installment of the exhibit, curating a selection of animals introduced in the first 10 volumes of the book series, such as a stink bug that sprays liquid from the base of its legs when attacked. A scent experience corner lets visitors smell a faithful recreation of the bug’s pungent odor. The exhibit is organized across seven zones — and a brand new zone of “unfortunate” creatures selected by the aquarium’s own staff.
Original limited-edition merchandise will also be sold.
