A Summer Festival with Hello Kitty & Friends

From July 10 to September 1, Sanrio Puroland theme park is hosting a special event: a matsuri, or summer festival. Mixing both retro and futuristic neon themes, the Puroland Neo Natsu Matsuri will return for its 3rd year with the theme of “Future Cool Breeze.” The event will have fun festival games, character greetings, seasonal menus and limited-edition merchandise.

Neo Ennichi Games

The Neo Ennichi area at the first floor Entertainment Hall will have game booths to enjoy under neon lights.

The “yatai” booths will have carnival-style games, such as the shaved ice drop, the yakisoba game and ring toss. These games are ¥800 per session (cash only) and players are guaranteed to win an original button badge.

The “Pochacco’s Cool Ice Cream Festival” booth uses MR (Mixed Reality) technology for a next-generation summer festival experience. In the game, players will try to feed ice cream to the Sanrio friends. This game is also ¥800 per session (cash only) and players are guaranteed to win an original acrylic drink stirrer.

The “Mirai Photo” experience is a new attraction, debuting for the first time in Japan. This is a photo experience that uses AI to create visuals with futuristic style and Sanrio characters, where you can meet your “Y3K self.” Guests can then select their favorite image to be displayed in the large Neo Ennichi screen. This experience is ¥1000 per session.

Character Greetings

Matching the summer festival theme, a variety of Sanrio characters will be greeting fans in colorful yukata (summer kimono). Hello Kitty and Kuromi will also have alternative “Y3K style” outfits they will be appearing in.

A premier greeting opportunity will be hosted at the Event Corner during the event period. Guests can meet their favorite characters in their seasonal costumes in a more private experience. This attraction is an additional ¥3000 and includes an original postcard set. Up to four people can join with one participation ticket. To book this experience, please purchase a ticket through the advance lottery or the general sale on Lawson Ticket. Applications will open on June 20.
