Learn About Ocean Creatures with Tamagotchi
Enoshima Aquarium will collaborate with Tamagotchi for a fun interactive experience.
Tamagotchi, the digital pet toy created by Bandai, has been a popular franchise since its release in 1996 and has been experience a recent nostalgic resurgence. With the guidance of Tamagotchi characters, guests can learn more about the different aquatic creatures at the aquarium, and how to take care for them and their habitats just like the beloved Tamagotchis.
The collaboration event will highlight sardines, jellyfish and dolphins. A special stamp rally will go over the growth cycles of these animals in a simple explanation that matches the style of Tamagotchi. Guests can pick up a rally sheet at the second floor Sagami Bay Zone, and collect stamps at nine locations throughout the building. Rally sheets are limited to the first 600 people each day on weekdays, and the first 1,200 people each day on weekends. Once you have collected all the “care stamps,” guests can receive an Enoshima Aquarium Apprentice Certificate.
Special event exhibitions include the anchovy and jellyfish water tank, the axolotl area, the humboldt penguin enclosure and the bottlenose dolphin tank. The “Tama Lab,” inspired by the zoom dial on the Tamagotchi Paradise game, invites guests to observe tiny creatures at a cellular level.
The Ocean Cafe will serve exclusive collaboration drinks and merchandise. The Tamagotchi soda comes with one random coaster.
The photo corner will offer commemorative photo keychains and magnets with guests’ portraits. Guests who purchase a keychain or magnet will also receive a collaboration sticker. The aquarium gift shop will also have exclusive collaboration goods, including stickers, hairbands, tote bags, glass cups and acrylic stands.
Guests who book advance tickets will receive a special bonus sticker featuring Mametchi. Guests who sign up for or renew an annual Enoshima Aquarium membership will receive another bonus sticker featuring Mimitchi.
