The Cutest Post Office Experience
Japan Post will host a cute pop-up stationery event at Roppongi Hills from December 10 to December 14.
The “Zukkyun Post Office” project is an initiative developed by Japan Post employees to inspire more people, especially the younger generation, to get into the wholesome art of mailing letters to loved ones. Packed with kawaii-style motifs, fun activities and unique venues, the initiative has been a big success with various events across Japan and over 50,000 cumulative visitors.
This is the 5th iteration of the event, and the Zukkyun Post Office will be coming to the Hills Cafe/Space in Roppongi Hills.
The event hopes to spark creativity for Christmas letters and gift giving, oshi katsu idol fan culture and general emotional expression with friends and family. The pop-up will feature a variety of crafting stations and accessories for an exciting mailing experience.

At the “Tsumegumi Gift” workshop (¥550), guests can fill a box with candy, and then mail it with a letter of appreciation. At the “Zukkyun Hakonikobin” workshop (¥870) guests can try Japan Post’s new service, Hakonikobin, which allows customers to create one-of-a-kind boxes to mail gifts. At the “Tokimeki Letter Pen” workshop (¥600), guests can create their own unique pens by adding their favorite beads. The “Zukkyun Stamp Puri” photo booth (¥500) can create custom printed stamps that can actually be used to send out letters.
Guests can also try adding scents to letters, write love letters in heart-shaped notes, use colorful pens and stickers, and hang up secret messages on the Christmas tree.
Various merch items will be available exclusively at the pop-up event. Goods include Zukkyun Post Office designed masking tape, assorted stickers, post cards, keychains and T-shirts. A limited edition stamp will also be available through a gachapon machine. Guests who post a photo at the venue to their social media with the hashtag “Zukkyun Post Office” will receive a heart-shaped lollipop.
