The Pianoman Live at Blue Note Place
YoYo the “Pianoman” from swing rap unit SOFFet brings his piano jazz project to Blue Note Place for the very first time, celebrating the release of his long-awaited 3rd album A Gift for You.
In this performance, members include YoYo on piano, Naomu Soeda on saxophone and flute, Yosuke Terao on bass and Akira Kudo on drums.
YoYo is an acclaimed lyricist, composer and arranger. He began learning piano at age four and began self-studying songwriting and composition at age 15. He moved to the United States at age 19 and studied at the Berklee College of Music. After returning to Japan, he made his major debut in 2003 as part of the unit “SOFFet.” SOFFet’s first album, Carnival, debuted at number 15 on the Oricon album charts.
YoYo delivers a rich tapestry of music through a stunning ensemble that can’t be missed.
The performance will be split into two parts, about 30 minutes each with a break in the middle. The first half will begin at 18:45 and the second half will begin at 19:45.
