A Thrilling Universal Nightmare

Universal Studios Japan is packed with updated attractions, character performances, scare zones, haunted houses, special menus and new merchandise.

Kid-Friendly Events

The Hahaha! Halloween Party event for children will start on September 4. 

From park opening to 17:00, guests who say “trick or treat” to crew members carrying candy pouches throughout the park (excluding the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World) can get a special treat.

The “Pokemon Unstoppable Halloween Party” will feature DJ Gengar and DJ Pikachu with many other beloved Pokemon.

In front of Minion Park, the Minions will be making an appearance wearing their monster costumes. “Universal Wonderland: Let’s Rock Together” will also have characters like Hello Kitty, Elmo and Snoopy, all wearing Halloween costumes.

Shows and Attractions

While geared more for older audiences, children ages 12 and under staying for the nighttime activities must be accompanied by a guardian.

Starting at 18:00, street zombies will begin roaming the park. There will be seven scare zones throughout the park with even more zombie hoards starting at 18:25. Megan, the titular murderous robot from Blumhouse Productions’ film M3GAN, will be wandering around to scare visitors. From 18:00, Death Eaters will take over the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

For haunted houses, four mazes will give a hauntingly immersive experience.

  • Witches of House 18 (ages 13+): Bewitching Mansion of Emotion: Stage 18 from 9:00
  • Factory of Fear: Zombie Tour (ages 15+): Studio 22 starting at 10:00
  • Chucky’s Carnival of Chaos (ages 15+): Stage 18 from 10:00
  • Resident Evil: Night of Heroes​ (ages 13+): back of Louie’s N.Y. Pizza Parlor from 18:00

HamiKuma is the undead teddy bear mascot of Halloween Horror Nights who will be hosting an all-new Sweet Scream Party. The show will feature HamiKuma, HamiKuma Soul, HamiKuma Punk and HamiKuma Candy, with three shows per day. 

The Cinema 4-D Theater will be playing “Chainsaw Man: The Chaos 4-D” with characters from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular manga and anime series. The “Hollywood Dream – The Ride” roller coaster, and its backwards version “Hollywood Dream – The Ride: Backdrop,” will also have exclusive audios to select.

During the Halloween period, “Jurassic Park – The Ride” will operate in total darkness.

Food and Drinks

A huge selection of Halloween-exclusive menu items will be added. Starting with HamiKuma, a seasonal popcorn bucket will be available. This is the first-ever HamiKuma-themed bucket and it plays three voice clips. Other HamiKuma snacks include a black cheese and pepper hot dog, a chocolate keema curry, strawberry candy churros and a vanilla and salt drink.

To go with Pokemon’s Halloween party, the Studio Stars restaurant will be serving Pokemon-themed dishes including Litwicks’ Lit Up at Night Hamburg Steak meal and Pumpkaboo’s Roly-Poly Chicken Bagel Sandwich meal.
