Pac-Man, Reinvented
Bandai Namco will host a special exhibit at Rayard Miyashita Park in Shibuya, reimagining Pac-Man in the world of Japanese classical art. The exhibit will run for a limited time from July 24 to July 27.
This is the first Pac-Man-themed art gallery in Tokyo, and it will feature the art piece “Kano School Style x Pac-Man Rakuchu Rakugaizu” (scenes of Kyoto in and around the city), which was exhibited last autumn at the special exhibition “Pac-Man x Myoshinji Keishun-in” in Kyoto. The one-of-a-kind hanging scroll fuses the video game legend with hand-painted Rakuchu Rakugai-zu art.
The gallery will also offer “Pac-Man Rakuchu Rakugaizu Fragments,” a collaboration between the Kano School style and Pac-Man Rakuchu Rakugaizu, and merchandise including Pac-Man hand-painted candles by a traditional Japanese candle craftsman from Kyoto.
After its run in Shibuya, this gallery tour in Gaaat Gallery Fukuoka starting from August 28 to August 31. Reservations are currently being accepted for both exhibitions.
