A Virtuoso Captivating Audiences Worldwide
India’s leading bassist, Mohini Dey, will make her Blue Note Tokyo debut.
Dey, born in Mumbai in 1996, began her professional career at just nine years old under the influence of her musician parents. She has performed with legends such as Quincy Jones, Steve Vai and Zakir Hussain, and was selected as a touring member for B’z in 2019. Recognized by MusicRadar as one of the “Top 10 Bassists of the 21st Century” — notably the only woman featured on the list — and honored by Forbes India among the most successful musicians under 30, Dey’s achievements continue to stack up.
Following her 2013 debut album Mohini Day, which has also been well-received, she now brings her dazzling five-string mastery to the stage.
This performance will feature Mohini Dey on bass and vocals, Marco Cirigliano on drums, Jonathan Mones on saxophone and Kash Iyengar on keyboard.
