A Celebration of Worldwide Francophonie Cultures
The Tokyo French-Japanese Institute invites visitors to come experience the charm of Francophonie culture. The festival brings together over 20 French-speaking countries and regions for an annual celebration.
French is an official or primary language in over 29 countries, spoken by over 270 million people worldwide. March 20 marks International Francophonie Day, a day to celebrate French language and cultures around the world.
The Fête de la Francophonie, or Festival of Francophonie, will feature a diverse program of concerts, workshops, exhibitions, musical performances and more. At the Tokyo French-Japanese Institute reception hall and gallery, guests can interact with a variety of exhibitor cultural booths, including Morocco’s henna tattoo experience. The institute’s image space will host lectures, screenings and workshops. The library and various classrooms will also host presentations and workshops. Restaurant L’Oiseau de France will present Francophonie cuisine, live music and dance performances. For a full list activities and schedule times, please visit the website.
