On February 5, Netflix released a reunion episode on YouTube, giving fans a chance to catch- up with the cast months after filming wrapped. Relationships were clarified, adorable BTS moments were shared, and yes — some love stories continued.

Are Izaya and William Still Together?
To start with a pleasant update (and possibly a surprise for some skeptical viewers): Izaya and William are still together — and living together.
After filming ended, the pair began cohabiting in Tokyo. They spent about two months building their life there before going to Barcelona, where they’d spoken about moving during filming. (When the show started, William was living in Barcelona and Izaya was living in Australia.) Due to Izaya’s work, they later navigated periods of long distance between Australia and Japan, but ultimately have returned to living together in Tokyo.
A standout story from the episode was how Izaya first met William’s parents. William and his parents spontaneously came to meet Izaya at his hotel — catching him in pajamas, messy hair and room slippers. It seems like this first encounter went smoothly, and the couple are happily together.

Are Bomi and Huwei Still Together?
Yes, Bomi and Huwei are still together. While their Instagram feeds haven’t featured overt couple photos or “hard launches,” they confirmed during Netflix’s February 5th reunion video that they’re continuing their relationship.
They told a story about their New Year’s date — apparently they went to see a movie together and bought caramel popcorn. Huwei’s retelling of this story with these small details was true to the relaxed personality we got to know during the season.
Both are balancing busy lives. Huwei is juggling studying for his PhD with representing Thailand in judo, recently earning second place in the SEA Games. Meanwhile, Bomi has been studying to become a certified public accountant — a detail he proudly reflects in his Instagram bio.

Are Taeheon and Jobu Still Together?
Taeheon and Jobu, conversely, have decided to walk separate paths — though they remain on good terms.
According to their post-show update, there wasn’t a dramatic turning point. Instead, it seems they simply didn’t have enough time outside the show to fully envision a shared future. While there were clear feelings, the transition from Green Room emotions to real-world logistics can be complicated.
Unlike the couples who discussed concrete plans during the show, Taeheon and Jobu may not have had enough time and space to build that next chapter together while filming. Kazuyuki
In what might be the most cinematic update of all, Kazuyuki reunited with his ex-boyfriend of 15 years — and they’re still together.
During the show, Kazuyuki reflected deeply and ultimately realized he still loved his long-time ex-partner. The two reconciled, and even watched Season 2 together. As commentator Tokui noted, Kazuyuki’s story could become a stand-alone movie.
Hiroya
Hiroya is now based in Tokyo and has become something of the group’s gathering point. When the cast members visit Tokyo from the Kansai area, they often stay at his home — which fans on Instagram have noted is very stylish.
Tomoaki
Tomoaki revealed that he gave a coming-out letter to his parents after the show. The outcome wasn’t the picture-perfect resolution he may have hoped for, but he says he does not regret coming out. He expressed pride in who he is now and gratitude toward his castmates.
He also appears to remain the lively heart of the group, often documenting their reunions and group purikura moments. Fans love seeing how much he’s opened up during the show, doing a total 180 from the more introverted personality he had when first arriving at the Green Room.
Ryuki
Ryuki also came out to his father. While his father wasn’t quick to accept his coming out, Ryuki shared that he understands parents may need time. He also encouraged his father to watch the show to better understand him.

On February 6, Izaya posted about celebrating his birthday with several members, showing the closeness of the cast and how the bonds made during filming still remain intact. In another update, Izaya, Jobu, Hiroya and Tomoaki took a trip together in autumn to Yamanashi for Shine Muscat grape picking and fall foliage viewing, and also visited Chichibu together.
Love stories may shift, but it seems like The Boyfriend was an incredible growing experience for the Season 2 cast.
