A Summer Matsuri with Penguin Flair

In celebration of the summer season and the soon-retiring beloved Suica Penguin mascot, JR East will host a Suica Summer Festival at Tokyo Station with new merchandise, ekiben lunchboxes, lotteries and more.

A Pensta pop-up shop will open on the first basement floor of Tokyo Station, inside the Gransta Tokyo event space. The pop-up will have various exclusive items, including a special collaboration lunchbox with Chicken Bento. The bento will feature the best-selling chicken with Suica Penguin printed nori sheets topping the rice. The box also has resin souvenir chopsticks inside that can continue to be enjoyed. A limited collaboration insulated bag is available to keep your bento warm.

The pop-up shop will offer other fun items, like Suica Penguin kamaboko, Tanigawa mountain bottled waters with specialty penguin-design labels, stickers, magnets, handkerchiefs, cooling towels, shirts, totes and more.

For every ¥2,000 spent using electronic transit cards like Suica Card at participating stores, guests will receive one entry into the festival lottery. Fans have the chance to win some big prizes like vouchers for Tokyo Station restaurants and more Suica Penguin merchandise. Participating store include JR-Cross operated facilities and stores within Tokyo Station (NewDays, Hanagataya, Tokyo Mittsu, Beck’s Coffee Shop, Ekibenya Matsuri, Onigiri-dokoro Honnoriya, Acure vending machines, Gransta, etc.) and all Pensta stores.

The first 1,500 people each day who participate in the lottery more than once will receive a Suica Penguin fan. The first 600 people each day who charge ¥10,000 or more on their Mobile Suica on the day of the event and present proof (screen or receipt) at the lottery venue will receive an eco bag.
