A Tribute to A Legend
Pianist Chinami Yamaguchi will make her long-anticipated debut at Blue Note Place, presenting her acclaimed reinterpretation of American musician Keith Jarrett’s masterpiece, “The Koln Concert.” After intensive training using scores personally revised by Jarrett himself, Yamaguchi’s complete performance of the work drew widespread attention and drew a highly-praised recording debut. With a delicate and refined touch, Yamaguchi breathes new life into an iconic album.
Yamaguchi was born in Wakayama Prefecture and performed with the Musashino Academia Musicae Orchestra in Japan and Germany while still a student. She won first place in the 9th Kagarinosato Music Competition and studied piano with other decorated musicians including Setsu Niwa, Masaki Nakamura, Satoshi Shigematsu and Junji Mitsuishi.
This will be a one-night-only performance, with doors opening at 18:00 and starting at 19:00. The performance will last approximately 60 minutes with a 30-minute break during the show.
