Ami Taf Ra’s Debut Japan Performance

Rising star Ami Taf Ra, who released her debut album on the groundbreaking LA label Brainfeeder, will have her first-ever Japan performance at Blue Note Tokyo. Presenting The Prophet and The Madman, her acclaimed debut album produced by Kamasi Washington, Ami Taf Ra delivers a powerful and immersive live experience.

Originally from Morocco and currently based in Los Angeles, Ami Taf Ra explores cultural fusion through music by blending traditional Moroccan Gnawa, Arabic music, gospel and spiritual jazz into a deeply meditative sound that transcends borders. For her debut album, she drew inspiration from the poet Khalil Gibran’s books “The Prophet” and “The Madman,” and created a unique soundscape with a stellar cast of collaborators.

This performance will feature Ami Taf Ra on vocals, Isaac Green on bass, Micah Heard on drums, Veritus Miller on keyboard and Kamasi Washington on saxophone.

On January 23, the first performance will open at 17:00 and start at 18:00. The second performance will open at 19:45 and start at 20:30. On January 24, the first performance will open at 15:30 and start at 16:30. The second performance will open at 18:30 and start at 19:30.
