The Bold and Elegant Evolution of “Senri Jazz”
New York–based musician Senri Oe, a globally-renowned jazz pianist, will return to Blue Note Tokyo with his trio featuring Matt Clohesy on bass and Ross Pederson on drums.
Oe debuted in 1983, receiving multiple achievements while working as a songwriter, actor and TV personality. After a successful career as a hit singer-songwriter in Japan, Oe moved to the US in 2008 to launch his own label and released the album Boys Mature Slow in 2012. Since then, he has consistently released music and performed live shows, and celebrated his 40th anniversary with the release of Class of ’88.
Oe will reimagine iconic pop songs through a jazz lens and will present new material ahead of its release.
In this performance run, there will be two shows per day. The first show will open at 17:00 and start at 18:00. The second show will open at 19:45 and start at 20:30.
