Suba and Virtus
A new store named VS — a mixture of the Kyoto soba eatery Suba and the wine shop Virtus — is opening in Shibuya on Tuesday September 10. On the first floor is Suba VS, where customers have the choice of several dishes, including old-aged tomato soba, shijimi clam and mandarin oil from Lake Shinji in Shimane Prefecture and toriten Mao spice.
The second floor is the wine store and bar Virtus VS with more than 1,000 varieties to choose from. There’s also a wine dispenser offering tastings of close to 50 wine options. The wine is available in small quantities. Bottles must be purchased separately. To celebrate the opening, anyone who purchases ¥25,000 worth or more of wine will receive a free bottle of Mikaeriburando Garu.
