Starting Saturday, November 22, the brand-new “Tamagotchi Factory” will officially open its doors at Harajuku’s Tokyu Plaza Harakado. At this whimsical, factory-themed concept shop, fans can browse for Tamagotchi merch as well as build their own goodies to take home. This comes after the success of last year’s birthday event, which was also held in Harakado.

The store is designed around one central idea: experiencing the world of Tamagotchi. Instead of simply grabbing items off the shelf, visitors are encouraged to step into a colorful “workshop” environment where they can customize products, assemble their own goods and enjoy the feeling of being part of a tiny Tamagotchi production line. Staff members dressed in factory-style uniforms and the store’s pastel-colored, animated factory motifs complete the worldbuilding.
For opening week, the store is unveiling a pre-launch of the “Tamagotchi Connection × mezzo piano” collaboration. These exclusive devices feature new illustrations created just for the collab, with beloved Tamagotchi characters decked out in the fashion brand’s rabbit-eared hoodies.
But the star attraction may be the shop-exclusive activity “Mini Tama Tumeho-dai!” (all-you-can-fill mini Tama). Fans can scoop up mini figures (everything from classic Tamagotchis to tiny game items like candy, onigiri and even the creature’s iconic poop) and pack them into a specially designed Tamagotchi-shaped bottle. There’s also a booth where you can customize your own keychain, apparel and accessories by picking out iron-on patches of your favorite characters and letters.

How To Visit Tamagotchi Factory: Reservations Explained
Because opening week is expected to be busy, admission from November 22 to 30 was initially determined through a lottery. However, a limited number of additional first-come reservations have been released for select time slots. These extra slots went live on November 18 at 7 p.m., and they’re available only to people who either didn’t apply before or didn’t win the original lottery.
To apply, add the official Tamagotchi Factory LINE account, check the automatic instructions sent to your chat, and tap the button labeled “事前来店受付” (advanced reservation) to begin. Choose your desired time slot, submit your application and show up at Harakado on your reserved date.
On the day of your visit, you’ll need to arrive ten minutes before your time slot (or within the special 11:00–11:05 window for the opening slot), and your QR code will appear in LINE once your entry number is called.
Entry procedures for visits after December 1 will be announced on the official website and X in the near future, so fans planning later trips should stay tuned.
