Considered one of Giuseppe Verdi’s greatest operas composed, this classic Shakespearean tale of love, jealousy and betrayal comes alive thanks to the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation. The opera will be performed in Italian with Japanese subtitles. The Nikikai group was formed in 1952 by 16 Japanese leading singers, and since then it has grown into the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation, an organization of singers with 2,300 members. Having performed over 240 operas since its inception, this group can be considered the ambassadors of opera in Japan, and are sure to put on a show that won’t disappoint.
