If you’ve been glued to your Nintendo Switch 2 since March, you’re not alone. Pokémon Pokopia — the spin-off co-developed by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force — launched worldwide on March 5, 2026, and players have barely put it down since.
In Tokyo, the hype started even earlier. A Ditto takeover of the Hanzomon Line — a nod to its Japanese name, Metamon, and the line’s signature purple trains — wrapped two entire train cars in Pokémon decorations from March 2 to 15. Now, Ikea Japan wants to bring that cozy, habitat-building magic off-screen and into its stores.

Step Inside Pikachu and Snorlax’s Homes
Running from April 1 through May 10, Pokopia doubles down on its cozy appeal with a series of events at select Ikea locations across Japan.
At the center of the campaign are two specially designed model rooms. The Pikachu-inspired one combines Ikea’s children’s furniture range with whimsical woodland motifs like mushrooms, leaf canopies and an open layout built for play and creativity.
The Snorlax room, meanwhile, takes the opposite approach: a gloriously relaxed space with a sleep zone at its heart, and soft blues and whites evoking the color palette of said sleepy pocket monster.
How to Unlock the “Ikea Island” in Pokémon Pokopia
These rooms offer more than just photo opportunities. Each one includes a hidden address code that unlocks Ikea’s “Cloud Island” inside Pokopia, where the brand’s designers have recreated the same spaces for players to explore in-game.

In-Store Stamp Rally
From April 18 to May 10, Ikea stores will host a Pokémon-themed stamp rally. Collect all seven stamps from Pokémon-themed stations hidden throughout each store, paired with an Ikea trivia challenge, and receive a commemorative card.
Ikea Family members have an added incentive: spend ¥5,000 or more in a single transaction and receive an original collaboration sticker sheet, with six designs rotated weekly. Every sticker also comes with a QR code entry into a prize draw for Ikea gift cards worth ¥100,000 or one of 150 exclusive key rings and sticker sets.

A Pokémon Bite To Eat
Rounding out the campaign, the in-store Swedish Restaurant will serve cakes decorated with Pokémon-themed paper picks, alongside dedicated photo spots. This is ideal for anyone who needs a break from the stamp rally.
Note that Ikea Yokohama BayQuarter, Ikea Kyoto, Ikea Hiroshima and Ikea Okayama are excluded from the restaurant activation, while Ikea Okayama is not participating in the campaign entirely.
