Pushing the Boundaries of Jazz
Marty Holoubek, the renowned bassist and prominent artist in the Japanese music scene, will make his comeback after over a year.
This performance will be part of “Trio IV,” featuring drummer Shun Ishiwaka and pianist Shota Watanabe. Holoubek connected with Ishikawa during his first visit to Japan, and Watanabe is actively involved in supporting various artists and composing music.
Holoubek, originally from Adelaide, Australia collaborated with a variety of international artists before moving to Tokyo. He is currently active in his own Trio series and as co-leader of the jazz band SMTK, among other roles. Last December, Holoubek released Trio IV: The Mountains, They Listen, and a sequel is scheduled for release this coming March.
The first show will open at 17:00 and start at 18:00. The second show will open at 19:45 and start at 20:30.
