Enveloped in Clouds
Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is home to the famous Tokyo Sea of Clouds, which will return in July for the 2026 season.
Thanks to the carefully balanced time, humidity, weather and location, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo experiences a rare natural phenomenon of a breathtaking cloudscape. By blending all of these natural elements, and roughly 1,000 lights, the resulting installation is a living garden that reveals a different view with each visit.

The Chinzanzo Garden’s centerpiece, the three-story pagoda, was moved from Takamurayama Chikurinji Temple in Higashi-Hiroshima to Chinzanso in 1925. Celebrating over 100 years, the pagoda was registered as a national tangible cultural property that now crowns the famed clouds.
The standard Sea of Clouds lasts for around 3 minutes per session, and the grand Sea of Clouds lasts for around 8 minutes — covering around ¾ of the garden. For a full estimated schedule, please visit the event website.
The hotel’s recommended viewing points include the Garden View rooms/Garden Terrace, and in front of the lawn of the three-story pagoda.
