Kid-Friendly Halloween Fun
The Kichijoji Halloween Festival is returning for its 15th year for a family-friendly community event filled with activities, candy and costume shows. With the theme of showcasing Halloween traditions around the world, the event will teach children about various international countries and the ways that children celebrate the season.
The festival is a community-driven, family-friendly Halloween event designed to support local families and connect children with local business owners in a safe, welcoming environment. The event’s staple event is the trick-or-treat rally. Children can visit participating local shops across Kichijoji, say the magic phrase “Trick or Treat!” and receive candy and treats.
The Kids Costume Fashion Show, held exclusively on October 25, is a special red-carpet event where kids can show off their favorite costumes on stage. Those who are extra proud of their costumes can join the Kichijoji Halloween Photo Contest, an Instagram-based photo contest open to everyone where participants can post photos taken at themed photo spots located throughout participating neighborhood shops using event hashtags.
The festival will also offer a variety of crafting workshops including custom bag painting and Halloween wreath making.
