Starting November 1, Fairmont’s French Afternoon Tea presents seasonal sweets and savory delights that bring together cherished Christmas traditions and a contemporary sensibility.
The sweets selection features festive creations inspired by iconic Christmas motifs, including the playful “Christmas Present,” an orange mousse tucked inside a white chocolate gift box, and the “Gingerbread Delice,” a smooth, five-spice-flavored confection with a charming Christmas ornament-inspired shape.
The savory selection showcases the natural flavors of the ingredients, including “Chicken Ballotine,” a chicken and mushroom ballotine layered with the sweet-and-tart flavor of strawberry jam and served with brioche, and “Cauliflower Panna Cotta,” a silky cauliflower panna cotta paired with scallops and black truffle for an indulgent, aromatic finish.
At the trolley service, guests can enjoy five varieties of sweets, including “Wreath Baumkuchen,” a baumkuchen coated in white chocolate and decorated with dried fruit and nuts to resemble a Christmas wreath, and “Christmas Fruit Trifle,” featuring layers of fruit compote, cinnamon-scented cream, and speculoos.
Tea Palette
The drink selection also features the “Tea Palette,” allowing guests to choose their favorite ingredients and create their own “Christmas Tea.”
A beloved Christmas tradition in Europe, “Christmas Tea” is made by blending tea leaves with spices and dried fruit, creating a warming, aromatic flavor that is perfect for cold winter days.
For the Afternoon Tea, the Christmas Tea Palette will be available exclusively for the holiday season, featuring two teas — Assam C.T.C. and Darjeeling Blend — alongside six varieties of spices and dried fruit, including cinnamon, cloves and star anise.
During the same period, guests can also enjoy the “Winter Japanese Afternoon Tea,” a seasonal offering that incorporates ingredients especially beloved during winter and celebrates the changing of the seasons. Like the French Afternoon Tea, it can be enjoyed alongside the trolley service and Tea Palette.
