Gensuke Kanki’s Newly Formed Trio
Guitarist and multi-talented arranger and composer Gensuke Kanki, known for his exceptional musical sense and technical performance skills, will perform in his first-ever trio formation at Blue Note Place. The trio will consist of Kanki on guitar, Yoshiki Takahashi on bass and Tatsuhisa Yamamoto on drums. This special performance will also welcome Marty Holoubek on guitar and bass.
Gensuke Kanki learned to play guitar from his father at the young age of three, and he has continued to perform as a player, arranger and composer with numerous awards in both Japan and abroad, including the Guitar Music Grand Prix. Kanki performed the theme song for the 2024 NHK drama “To You Who Shines,” and provided music supervision for the 2023 JR Central TV commercial “Let’s Go to Kyoto.”
