Life With Cats

Galerie Geek/Art in Shibuya will host a new exhibition by the artist Poshichi, featuring fun illustrations depicting comedic pet situations in the style of traditional Japanese artwork.

The exhibition will feature various scenes that cat lovers will surely relate to, from pets ignoring their owners to pressing their paws against their owner’s face in utter rejection. These moments may feel like cats are just being mean, but they are endearing parts of their personality that add to their unique charm.

Poshichi’s artwork takes inspiration from ancient Japanese paintings, but are all drawn digitally using a tablet. The old-fashioned style conveys a sense that cats and their owners have always had this type of relationship.

The exhibition will feature nine pieces, including three new works. All of the artwork will be printed using neo-silk printing technology on Japanese paper for an interesting texture.
