A Blend Between Swing and the Avant-Garde
Nels Cline will make his return to Blue Note Tokyo with his latest quartet project from Blue Note Records.
Known as the guitarist from American rock band Wilco, Cline will return with his latest album, Concentric Quartet. Cline has previously been featured in over 200 recording credits across jazz, rock and alternative music. He received recognition by Rolling Stone as one of the “Top 100 Greatest Guitarists,” and continues to be an influential artist in the industry.
This performance will feature the recording lineup from his latest album with Ingrid Laubrock on saxophone, Chris Lightcap on bass and Tom Rainey on drums. Seamlessly blending composition and improvisation, the show will fully showcases Cline’s range and vision as both a composer and an improviser.
