Collecting Light Through Glass Installations
Marion Flament (born 1989), a French visual artist, is an alchemist of time and light. Her work, primarily focused on glass, stained glass and molten materials, transforms simple matter into luminous and poetic spectacles. Trained in glass techniques and in situ installation, Flament seeks to “collect light” by freezing time. She integrates materials rich in history (ashes, rusty nails, volcanic rock) into her creations to reveal their essence. Her installations, often deployed in deconsecrated spaces, create deeply intense atmospheres, inviting contemplation.
During the winter season, Marion Flament’s art takes on its full meaning. The fragility and crystalline splendor of her stained glass and glass sculptures recall the sparkle of Christmas decorations and the beauty of flickering lights. Her works evoke the intimate warmth of an illuminated window and a sense of tradition, capturing the moment when time seems suspended. By revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary through light, Flament offers a contemporary meditation on wonder and memory at the heart of the holiday season.
