The Mother-Daughter Duo Returns to Tokyo
Vocalist Dani and pianist Debora Gurgel lead the quarteto group known as DDG4, a mother–daughter duo who will make their long-awaited return to Japan at Blue Note Tokyo.
This special live set presents the beloved Coffee & Music series to the stage. The Coffee & Music album was produced and supervised by Takashi Horiuchi from the popular Kamakura cafe Vivemont Dimanche, and features leading artists from the new Brazilian music movement “Novos Compositores,” spearheaded by Dani.
Since releasing their debut album UM in 2013, DDG4 has become a favorite among listeners, regularly appearing on the Brazil Disc Awards. This Blue note Tokyo performance also celebrates the 10th anniversary of their 2015 cover album Neon, with selections from the album featured in the set.
The performance welcomes São Paulo-born singer-songwriter Tó Brandilione as a special guest. The show will also feature Sidiel Vieira on bass and Thiago Rabello on drums.
