Aeroplane food has just got better, if you like burgers. In fact, more specifically, if you like MOS Burger’s “Rice Burger Kinpira”, which uses rice instead of bread!

The interesting team up between JAL and MOS also means that if you are a beef fan this may not be what it seems. The Kinpira Burger is filled with vegetables and chicken. Start licking your lips next time you go to Narita or Haneda!

According to JAL, “the filling includes burdock, lotus root, carrot, oyster mushrooms, black sesame and Japanese chilli pepper, and is sautéed in a light soy sauce and sweet miso paste to deliver a deep, rustic flavor of Japan.” Sounds great –

Our burgers will be “rustic” if we fly Japan Airlines to Europe or the US between June 1 and August 31, 2012, and First and Executive customers can eat as much as they like, as part of what JAL call their Anytime You Wish promise…

Whether the burgers will go down as well as the Teriyaki Beef served in 2011 remains to be seen, but this, the latest in JAL’s “Air Series” could offer respite from the bland usual offerings of many airlines!

MOS , which was formed in 1972, in Narimasu, has 1400 stores in Japan and is second only to McDonalds in the fast-food sales stakes in Japan. It now has locations throughout Asia and added Australia to the list in 2011.
