200 Masterpieces From MOMAT’s Prestigious Collection
This special exhibition features approximately 200 works from The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo’s collection of over 14,000 pieces.
This season, three works by Kiyokata Kaburagi, designated as Important Cultural Properties — “Tsukiji Akashi-cho,” “Shintomi-cho” and “Hamacho-gashi”—will be displayed together for the first time in seven years. In addition, masterpieces representing modern Japanese art, such as Shunso Hishida’s “Autumn Trees” and Kaii Higashiyama’s “Winter Flowers,” will be featured at the exhibit.

In a collaborative project with the November issue of Fujin Gaho magazine, visitors can view the masterpieces featured in the magazine in the actual exhibition rooms. A small exhibition, “Ami de Paris: Japanese Artists in Paris,” focusing on Japanese artists who were active in Paris from before the war to the postwar period, will also be held concurrently.
