Dedicated to tourists visiting from overseas, “Hiroshima Etto,” a limited edition specialty store showcasing Hiroshima goods, will host a pop-up on the 5th floor of Sogo Hiroshima Department Store. Meaning “lots” in Hiroshima dialect, the Etto store reflects just that: carefully selected by local staff, there will be a huge range of products available for visitors to Japan to peruse and purchase. Guests can enjoy Japanese sake from a local Hiroshima brewery with traditional side dishes, as well as specialty goods such as jams. From hand-crafted cosmetic brushes to Japanese umbrellas, this is the ideal place to find festive treats to share with friends and family over the New Year period.
On select days, various workshops will also be held in-store. Visitors are invited to craft amulets (good-luck charms) out of kimono fabric, or try their hand at casual calligraphy in a dedicated calligraphy workshop.
In the heart of the city, there’s no better way to learn more about, and directly experience, Hiroshima’s distinct culture.
