Multidisciplinary artist Jes Kalled presents parts of memory and perception in their shifting forms and textures across the mediums of photography, oil paint, text, video and audio. “A Year of Forgetting the Pines” gives shape to language and loss of language, touching on the layers of intimacy in a relationship with secrets and distance.

On Friday, June 23, Kalled will give a live painting performance with musician and artist, Ippei, who will be improvising on keyboard and acoustic guitar. The performance begins at 7pm and will carry on into the evening. Beer and wine can be purchased for ¥500. Mingling and engaging with the pieces is encouraged.

While in residence, guests and patrons can commission a portrait made by Kalled. This can be done through a direct message to Gallery Paradiso on Instagram. Walk-in commissions are also welcome at the gallery.
