A Dazzling Light Show

The Itabashi Fireworks Display will return for its 67th show along the Arakawa River. The event is one of Tokyo’s largest, featuring 15,000 fireworks, the 700-meter “Grand Niagara Falls” bursts. The festival also takes place simultaneously with the Toda City display on the opposite Saitama riverbank, creating an impressive combined pyrotechnic show.

For the Pokemon fans, the festival will launch a giant Pokeball and a Captain Pikachu firework in celebration of the beloved franchise’s 30th anniversary.

While public viewing along the river is free, unreserved zones are very limited. Arriving by early afternoon is highly recommended. The festival will also offer paid viewing areas. Tickets will be available starting at ¥2,000 per person, plus a separate ticketing fee of ¥165 per ticket, via the Pia ticket website or at Seven-Eleven convenience stores. Premium areas can go up to ¥40,000 for athletics stadium seating. Tickets are required for all guests; elementary school students and older. Preschool children can enter for free if they share a seat with an adult.

For easy access to the venue, please check the event website for access guides on which train station to to go depending on your ticket type.
