A Fireworks Spectacle at the Park
The Tachikawa Showa Kinen Park Fireworks Festival, a beloved local annual event that features large and spectacular firework bursts, will illuminate the night sky on July 25.
The main viewing area will be at the park’s “Minna no Harappa” space. The festival is incredibly popular, so paid viewing areas and special sponsor viewing tickets will be available for guests to secure a good view. Paid viewing tickets will be ¥1500. The special sponsor viewing tickets will have three tier options. A standard chair ticket will be offered for ¥8800, a pair ticket with an included picnic sheet will be ¥13200 and a group seating ticket (for up to 10 people) will be available for ¥77000. Tickets are now on sale through Rakuten Ticket and the official Tachikawa Fireworks Festival website.
The Commons Summer Festival will also be happening simultaneously with the fireworks festival at CommonsTachikawa Tachihi shopping mall, which is located around 16 minutes from Showa Kinen Park by train. On the day of the fireworks display, the area next to Commons Tachikawa Tachihi will be opened to the public free of charge as another viewing option. Various shops at the mall will be offering limited-edition food and drinks, along with seasonal merchandise and activities.
Tokyo Coffee Tachikawa will host a fun treasure hunt (participation fee: ¥500). Participants have a chance to win various prizes such as coffee beans and original mugs. The coffee shop will serve cold brew coffee, highballs, cider and more. At the handmade workshop, guests can create unique original goods such as drawstring bags with fireworks made with magic marker.
Various exclusive food and drinks will be available during the event. French pasta market Sose will have a seasonal menu including French-style bone-in roast chicken. Usagiya Udon will offer fresh homemade lemon squash, sandwiches and sushi rolls. Okushiba Shoten will have frankfurts that can be conveniently eaten while walking around the festival.
