The Great American Songbook, Reimagined By a New Generation
Following her debut at Cotton Club, Stella Cole — one of today’s most talked-about young vocalists — will make her debut at Blue Note Tokyo, bringing her latest album It’s Magic, released by Decca.
Cole’s love for the classics began at the age of two after watching The Wizard of Oz. The film ignited a lifelong fascination with the “Great American Songbook.” Cole brings a mix of nostalgia and innovation to the Great American Songbook, reimagining songs that have been beloved across generations.
Hoping to become a singer, she studied at the prestigious Northwestern University and began her career in New York. During the pandemic, videos she posted on YouTube and TikTok quickly turned viral, elevating her profile with an impressive social media following of 1.7 million followers. Her debut album, Stella Cole, produced by renowned producer Matt Pearson, led to her first visit to Japan, and now, she makes her first appearance at Blue Note Tokyo.
This performance will feature Stella Cole’s vocals, Michael Kanan on piano, Michael Migliore on bass and Hank Allen Barfield on drums.
On February 27, the first show will open at 17:00 and start at 18:00. The second show will open at 19:45 and start at 20:30. On February 28, the first show will open at 15:30 and start at 16:30. The second show will open at 18:30 and start at 19:30.
