Get in the Holiday Spirit at Roppongi Hills

The Roppongi Hills area is one of the most popular locations to celebrate the holiday season, with illuminations, a Christmas market, exhibitions and gourmet offerings from November 4 to December 25.

Illuminations and Photo Spots

The Keyakizaka Illumination show will extend approximately 400 meters, filling the street with hundreds of thousands of lights. The event website has some recommended photo spots for the best view of the illuminations, such as in front of TV Asahi and by the Gucci store. The lights will be on display from 17:00 to 23:00 until December 25.

The 66 Plaza directly in front of Mori Tower will have colorful bouquet-themed illuminations from 17:00 to 24:00 until December 25.

The 2nd Floor South Atrium of the Mori Tower shopping area will have a Christmas tree display from November 14 to December 25. The tree will be decorated with feathers and soft lights for an ethereal look inspired by wishes, designed by UxU Studio from Taiwan.

The Mori Garden will also have its own illuminations from November 14 to December 25 (17:00 to 23:00). The garden will be blanketed with lights designed by Uchihara Satoshi Design Office.

A zoetrope will be on display at Roppongi Hills Arena, where intricately crafted miniature sculptures of Santa Claus move with flashing lights to create the illusion of animation. Near the Keyakizaka connecting bridge, guests can take photos with the various gift box displays. By taking photos with the camera flash turned on, the boxes reveal a secret picture. The Roppongi Hills Big Roof Plaza will host a special Christmas photo booth from November 22 to December 25.

Exhibitions

The Mori Art Museum will display a special exhibit titled Roppongi Crossing 2025 Exhibition: Time Passes, We Are Eternal. Roppongi Crossing is an exhibition held by the Mori Art Museum every three years that surveys the Japanese contemporary art scene. This year, the exhibition will introduce 21 artists who will explore the theme of “time.” The exhibition will be open from December 3 to March 29 from 10:00 to 22:00.

The Roppongi Hills observation deck, Tokyo City View, will be holding “Christmas in the Sky 2025” from November 21 to December 25.

Christmas Market

O-Yane Plaza will transform into a Christmas market from November 22 to December 25. This year marks the 19th year of the Roppongi Hills Christmas market. The market will feature 10 shops, offering original German goods and cuisine.

Featured shops include Käthe Wohlfahrt, a Christmas specialty store from Rothenburg that offers a wide selection of authentic artisan products such as handmade ornaments and nutcrackers. Rasp Spice Decoration offers decor made with cinnamon, cloves, star anise and other fragrant spices to add a festive scent to guests’ homes. Atelier Niki Tiki sells high quality ornaments and handmade stuffed animals. The Joy Luck Club is a glasswork shop known for its delicate and adorable designs.

For food and drinks, the market will have a great seasonal menu. Guests can enjoy sausages, stew, pretzels and other German dishes. Guests can also enjoy hot chocolate, mulled wine and beer from Schmatz, a brewery with over 150 years of tradition.
