Hotel Okura Tokyo

By Weekender Editor

Opened in 1962, in time for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, Hotel Okura is a true Tokyo establishment that is synonymous with the city it is located in. Praised for its outstanding service and loved for its post-war modernist design, it is no surprise that the Okura has hosted numerous heads-of-state and royals such as Princess Diana and Barack Obama on their visits to Japan. Soon the hotel will also welcome a completely redesigned main building, which is expected to open in 2019.
