A tempting array of tasty dishes from around the Philippines brightens up the buffet tables at Tokyo’s Imperial Hotel.

The popular Imperial Viking Sal grand buffet restaurant during luncheon and dinner from September 26th through October 2nd, produced for Sal under the direction of Philippine seafood specialist and international hostess Glenda Barretto (pictured) and four of her talented colleagues.

Joining Ms. Barretto to create the Philippine selections will be Myrna Segismundo of Manila’s stellar 9501 Restaurant, accomplished patissier Jessie Sincioco of Manila’s acclaimed Le Souffle Restaurant, and two other luminaries from the alluring world of fine Philippine dining.

Among the temptations will be Kinihaw Seared Tuna Ceveche in Coconut Cream; Lumpia Ubod Crepes of Palm Hearts with Shrimp and Pork.

Ensaladang Pilipina of Mango, Adobo, Bagoong Vinaigrette and Tagalog Dressing; Adbong Manok sa Gata Chicken Stewed in Garlic, Soy and Vinegar with in Coconut Cream; Sugpo Kare-Kare Prawns with Vegetables in Peanut-Annatto Sauce.

Adobo Fried Rice with Garlic, Adobo Cubes, Peas and Scrambled Egg; Nilagang Karne Soup of Beef, Cabbage, Potato and Bean; Turron Crisp Banana Caramel Rolls; and Brazo de Mercedes Rolled Meringue with Creamy Filling.

A further selection of Sal favorites and other dishes and desserts will also be offered on the buffets.

Lunch buffets at Sal, on the 17th Floor of the Imperial’s Main Building, are served weekdays from 11:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m., at ¥5,300 (¥3,200 for children 4 to 12), while dinner hour buffets are offered weeknights from 5:30 p.m. through 9:30 p.m., at ¥7,900 (¥4,800 for children 4 to 12).

Rates are ¥5,800 (¥3,500 for children 4 to 12) for luncheon or ¥8,400 (¥5,100 for children 4 to 12) for dinner on weekends or national holidays, when lunch service is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Rates are inclusive of tax; a 10% service charge is additional. Philippine nationals are cordially invited to enjoy the buffets at ten percent off normal charges upon presentation of passport or photo ID.
