The French Kitchen, Roppongi

Food & Drink - June 3rd, 2010

How do you escape the city, without actually escaping the city? One way is to get away to the tree lined terrace of a luxury hotel. The Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Roppongi is one of the city’s best loved international hotels, but visitors to the terrace of The French Kitchen are in for a surprise. During the colder winter months, the hotel’s forward-thinking management invested time rejuvenating the space with stylish, plush furniture, completing the work just in time for spring.

The tree-lined patio feels like it could be in the Mediterranean or California, yet the central location makes getting there easy. The style is casual but classy, making it equally suited for a romantic evening or a night out with friends. The restaurant is currently offering a special summer dinner promotion entitled La Terrace Provence Barbecue that includes free-flowing sparkling wine served with an appetizer plate, soup, salad and an assortment of freshly grilled vegetables, fish and meats (¥4,800 per person). Relaxing at the bar with a group of friends or listening to the soft French music while lazing in the terrace arm chairs feels nothing less than sublime.

For groups of four or more, the restaurant will also throw in a free bottle of red or white wine to sweeten the barbecue deal even more. It is also possible to upgrade the free-flowing sparkling wine to Mumm champagne for an additional ¥4,800 per person. With summer upon us, this is the perfect way to relax and unwind while enjoying a balmy Tokyo evening.

The terrace barbecue promotion is available now and runs through September 30, giving diners the entire summer to take advantage of this unique offer on more than one occasion. Available for three full hours each evening, La Terrace Provence Barbecue at The French Kitchen is an excellent choice to start the night in style.
