The star-studded annual French Film Festival took place at Roppongi Hills. The face of this year’s festival was actress and singer Jane Birkin, who was among the many French film talents to grace the red carpet. The occasion was no small-time festivity, as French film buffs showed up in the form of an overly enthusiastic crowd of screaming girls, women and even salarymen. Matthieu Amalric, a recognizable face to many, is best known for playing Dominic Greene, James Bond’s nemesis in the film Quantum of Solace.
Over the weekend the stars gathered with Tokyo’s elite at the Audi Red Passion Party as Birkin’s three-day visit came to an end. Birkin said in her speech during the party, “I’d like to thank the Japanese for their kindness to me over the last 38 years. I absolutely love this country; the people here know me better than they know me in London. The affection I have for them, especially the women, is something very, very special.” Check out the extensive gallery below:
