The owner of the Harley-Davidson that washed ashore in Canada has been located using the motorcycle’s license plate. Ikuo Yokoyama told Nippon TV that the bike is “unmistakably” his when shown photos. Yokoyama is a survivor of the tsunami that hit Japan back in 2011, destroying his home and killing three members of his family. The Harley-Davidson motorcycle was found by Peter Mark on the coast of an island in British Colombia. The bike could be part of the first wave of tsunami debris, the bulk of which is expected to arrive in 2013. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicted currents would carry debris the 4,000 miles to Alaska, Canada, Washington and Oregon. Lighter objects will, in the meantime, wash ashore on the coasts due to wind.
