Known as one of Tokyo’s swankiest rooftop bars, Bulgari La Terrazza opens its Dom Pérignon lounge on the top of Ginza Tower at the start of summer each year, enticing guests with a Pinot Noir picnic experience.
This year’s launch event was held in mid-May and featured a luxury picnic setting on the terrace with grassy areas decorated with soft cushions. While a jazz band entertained, guests took in the expansive view that stretches over Tokyo’s rooftops, and savored exquisite Dom Pérignon Blanc, Rosé OEnoteque 1996, and other rare vintages paired with creations of Luca Fantin, Executive Chef of Bulgari Il Ristorante Luca Fantin.
Chef Luca Fantin has been based in Tokyo since 2009 and is known for his flair in reinterpreting contemporary Italian cuisine using the finest local ingredients. His restaurant, Bulgari Il Ristorante Luca Fantin, earned a Michelin star in 2011 and has recently been named Top Italian Restaurant in the World of 2017 by the Italian bible of gourmet cuisine Gambero Rosso.
The limited-time Dom Pérignon picnic area is available to enjoy until mid-June, and includes a private picnic area along with one bottle of Dom Pérignon, assorted appetizers, pasta, petit-fours and coffee or tea. For connoisseurs, the P2-1998 set (¥70,000) is ideal, featuring an exclusive vintage brut that has aged for 16 years. Its earthy undertones and spicy notes makes it the ultimate Dom Pérignon. The Blanc picnic bundle (¥40,000) includes a 2006 vintage bottle, which has been stored for eight years. This brut has a mild, harmonious flavor.
Picnic baskets can be shared with up to four people, and all prices are exclusive of tax and service fees.
