The Biggest Drift Event of the Year

Fuji Speedway race track will host its third annual Fuji Xtreme Days with Formula Drift Japan event. This thrilling 3-day event will center around drift competitions, but will be stacked with other events and activities including race car photo opportunities, motorcycle stunt shows, vendor booths and more.

Formula Drift Japan is a spectacular motorsport that has evolved Japanese-style drift racing style into American-style entertainment and has been making its comeback in Japan. Judges at the competition will decide on a winner not just based on speed, but also by scoring the angle of the car, the driving line, and the chasing “closeness.” The race attracts drift fans of all ages. And a big draw factor for young racers: no driver’s license is required to participate. The diversity in backgrounds creates exciting drama as everyone from young students to veteran drivers takes a shot at the crown.

The Formula Drift Japan competition is set up with a three-tier promotion system (FDJ/FDJ2/FDJ3), and is scheduled to run:

  • April 24: FDJ2 Qualifying / Formula Drift Japan Practice
  • April 25: FDJ2 Finale / Formula Drift Japan Qualifying
  • April 26: Formula Drift Japan Finale

Advance tickets will go on sale on January 29 on Cloud Pass and Asoview. The advance 3-day pass will be available for ¥8000, and individual day passes  will range from ¥2500 for April 24 to ¥4500 for either April 25 or April 26. Same-day tickets will cost ¥3500 for April 24 and ¥5500 for either April 25 or April 26. Junior high school students and under can enter the event for free if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
