Director Spike Jonze is best known for his Oscar-winning collaborations with writer Charlie Kaufman (“Being John Malkovich”, “Adaptation”), but his repertoire includes award-winning music videos, skateboarding documentaries and whimsical short films. His latest short, “I’m Here”, is now showing at Diesel Art Gallery in Shibuya. A 30-minute love story about the relationship between two robots living in LA, the movie is reminiscent of his film “Where The Wild Things Are”. Its robotically-suited stars, Andrew Garfield (“The Social Network”, “Never Let Me Go”) and Sienna Guillory (one of Maxim’s “100 Sexiest Women”), conjure up a magical romance on sets filled with works from emerging musicians and artists, some of which are on show at Diesel. The exhibition also launches the Japanese publication of the book/CD/DVD package “There Are Many Of Us”, which documents the creative development behind “I’m Here”.
