Most of us have entered a competition to win a holiday at some point in our lives. Usually the prizes are pretty similar – flights, accommodation and a few days lazing on a beach drinking cocktails under the sun.

If you’re looking for something a little different, you may want to consider Finland as an option!

Winter in Finland is like nowhere else on earth. It lasts from around November and finishes in May in some parts of the country, with snow on the ground for around half the year.

It comes as no surprise that it’s impossible for visitors to the country to experience all that winter has to offer in a short trip, so Visit Finland and Finnair have joined forces to search for explorers to take part in a massive 100-day expedition across the harsh (but authentic) territory of northern Finland.

Based around 17 tailor-made experiences, you could find yourself taking part in a blacksmith apprenticeship, celebrating Finnish Christmas, cruising on an icebreaker, herding reindeer, climbing frozen waterfalls, aurora hunting and 100-days celebrating in Helsinki.

What better way to cap off the intense Tokyo summer months than with an exciting icy adventure.

The campaign is focusing on Asian markets, so you’re in with a good chance. The recruitment phase has already begun and will continue into October. Dust off your warmest coat and get to it!
